OK, so you feel like you’re doing everything you need to do to get fit and healthy. You’re exercising, you’re eating good food and you’ve been doing it for a while.
So why aren’t you seeing results?
Let’s take a look at some of the possibilities to help you up the ante and finally get those results you deserve:
You’re Not Working Hard Enough
Be honest with yourself; are you working hard enough? You can’t just go through the motions and expect to get the results you want. You need to put all of your effort into your workouts, and know after each one that you couldn’t have done any better. You don’t necessarily need to be dripping sweat or aching – those two things do not necessarily mean you’ve had a great workout, no matter what you might read.
You’re Eating Too Much
You can eat healthy food, but you can still eat too much of it. This might be the reason you’re not seeing results. Sweet potato is a very healthy food, but if you’re eating it all day long you could overload on carbs and stop seeing results. You’re unlikely to get ‘fat’ eating these foods, but you might hinder your results. You don’t necessarily need to count your calories, but you should monitor how much of certain things you’re eating.
You’re Eating Too Little
Eating too little can be just as bad as eating too much. If you eat too little, you send your body into starvation mode. A body in starvation mode is the quickest way to make it hold onto fat. You want to shed your fat, not hold on to it. Your number might drop on the scale, but you might not look any different. If you want a great physique, you need to nourish your body.
You’re Working Too Hard
Just like not working hard enough, you might stop seeing results if you work too hard. If you go to the gym for hours on end and don’t have any rest, your body isn’t going to recover properly from it’s workouts. If you’re exhausted, you won’t see the results you deserve. Take a day off a week. Don’t spend too long in the gym. Overtraining is possible!
You Still Have Bad Habits
If you’re smoking and drinking just as much as before, you really can’t expect to see results. Alcohol has calories that the body can’t do anything with. Smoking is thought to help ‘lose weight’ as it can suppress the appetite. However, it can also make the body hold on to unwanted fat. Your main goal should be health, so use the best tasting e-liquids to help you kick that nasty habit. You should start to see better results in no time.
You’re Not Drinking Enough Water
You need to make sure you’re getting enough liquids for your body to shed fat and toxins. 2 litres a day is optimal, but drink a little more if you need it. Carry a large bottle around with you and you should remember to drink from it. You could even mark certain times on the bottle and make sure you’ve drank that amount of water by that time.
If you make sure you stick to this guide and remain consistent, you should see results soon enough. Some people take longer than others!
